‘Dr. Mick’ teaches children about dental treatment

TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa native and “tooth doc” is offering again to his group by operating with young children in the hope they’ll not have to arrive see him as grownups.


“The dentist is the a person that would make confident that your tooth aren’t damaged,” claimed Dr. Michael Diez, or “Dr. Mick” as he is acknowledged. “And if you do have a cavity, I’m the a person who fixes it.”

Diez, a dentist with Typical and Beauty Dentistry of Tampa, is this week’s Daily Hero.

Spectrum News achieved with him at Morgan Woods Elementary Faculty in Tampa with kindergarteners by way of fifth graders, all users of Boys and Women Clubs of Tampa Bay.

“Today we’re going to be educating the Boys and Ladies Club of correct dental hygiene, how to brush and floss,” Diez claimed.

The right way to floss is described with plenty of smiles.

“We needed to access out to the group in some way, and as a dentist I consider the greatest factor we can do is educating the future generation on how to have great hygiene and avoid some of the major issues we see on a day-to-working day foundation,” Diez said.

Tooth treatment runs in his spouse and children. Diez functions with his dad Randall, how is also a dentist, and his mom Lori, who is a dental hygienist.

Diez’s option to get the job done with Boys and Women Clubs of Tampa Bay was, in section, because of a memory.

“My grandfather, my dad’s father, it played a major element in his daily life in his early several years,” he stated. “He’ll convey to anybody the Boys and Ladies Club retained him out of difficulty and actually produced him who he was nowadays.”
